About this event
The museum's original special exhibit follows the history and resilience of USS New Orleans and her veteran crew. It examines her prewar commission, her service in nearly every major campaign of the Pacific war, and the torpedo attack at Tassafaronga that tore away her bow and killed more than 180 crewmembers. The display includes uniforms, photographs, souvenirs, archival newsreels, oral histories and a six foot scale model.
