Jazz Fest 2027 in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival runs over two four-day weekends at the Fair Grounds Race Course: Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 April, and Thursday 29 April to Sunday 2 May 2027. The dates are confirmed by the Foundation that owns the festival. The lineup and the ticket sale are still to come, and this page is plain about what is not known yet.

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, presented by Shell, is owned by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, which publishes the 2027 dates as 22 to 25 April and 29 April to 2 May. Eight days is a lot of festival, and the shape most visitors settle on is one weekend done properly rather than both done thinly. The three gap days between the weekends are when the rest of the city gets its turn.

Proceeds from the festival support the Foundation's year-round education, economic development and cultural enrichment programmes, which is part of why the city treats these two weekends as its own. Our Jazz Fest 2027 guide works through the planning in full; the festival's own listing on this calendar is below.

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (Jazz Fest 2027)

Mid-City · Festivals · Thu 22 Apr 2027 to Sun 02 May 2027 · 11 am

Jazz Fest 2027 runs over two four-day weekends at the Fair Grounds Race Course: April 22 to 25 and April 29 to May 2, 2027. The dates are published by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, the festival's owner, on its official site.

Confirmed dates

Tickets: what is known, and what is not

Tickets are sold by the festival itself, through its official site; there is no other primary seller. At the time this page was checked, the Foundation had published the 2027 dates and nothing else: no lineup, no ticket sale date, no stage plan. Any page that names headliners for 2027 today is guessing.

What you can settle now is everything around the music: the room, the days off, and the rest of the trip. When the lineup and the sale are announced, they will be announced on the festival's official site, nojazzfest.com, and this page and the festival's listing here are updated as they land.

Where to stay for Jazz Fest

Stay central. The French Quarter and the CBD put the city's restaurants, clubs and late music in walking range after the festival day ends, and both ride easily to Mid-City for the next one. Jazz Fest weekends are among the first in the year to fill, so book the room when you book the trip, not when the lineup lands.

The button below opens the hotel search set to Downtown New Orleans, the CBD base the festival's geography argues for; the hotels page compares all four areas.

The weekly note tracks the announcement

One email a week: what is on in New Orleans, which tentative dates have just been confirmed, and the weekends worth planning around while rooms are still bookable. The Jazz Fest lineup and ticket sale will land in the note the week they are announced. Get the note before everyone else: the public page follows a few days later.

Jazz Fest questions, answered

When is Jazz Fest in 2027?

Across two four-day weekends: Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 April 2027, and Thursday 29 April to Sunday 2 May 2027. There are no festival days on Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 April. The dates are published by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, the festival's owner, on its official site, and they are confirmed, not tentative.

When do tickets go on sale?

Not yet. At the time this page was checked, the Foundation had published the 2027 dates and nothing else: no lineup, no ticket sale date, no stage plan. Tickets are sold by the festival itself through its official site, nojazzfest.com; there is no other primary seller. When the lineup and the sale are announced, they will be announced there first, and the weekly note tracks confirmations like these as they land.

Where is Jazz Fest held?

At the Fair Grounds Race Course in Mid-City. The Fair Grounds sits a streetcar ride from the French Quarter and the CBD hotels most visitors use, which is the argument for basing yourself in the centre: the festival days end where the city's evenings begin.

What happens on the three days between the weekends?

There are no festival days on 26, 27 and 28 April, and the gap is a feature rather than a flaw: the museums, the river and the swamp get their turn, the second weekend's crowds have not yet arrived, and the city itself is the programme. The experiences below are the bookable staples for those days.

Where should I stay for Jazz Fest?

Stay central. The French Quarter and the CBD put the city's restaurants, clubs and late music in walking range after the festival day ends, and both ride easily to Mid-City for the next one. Rooms around the two weekends are among the first in the year to fill, so book the room when you book the trip, not when the lineup lands.
