Hotels
Where to stay in New Orleans.
Four areas, four different trips. The French Quarter walks to everything and sleeps late and loud; the CBD sits one block off it with the big hotels; the Garden District and Uptown trade the walk for oak shade and the streetcar; the Marigny and Bywater put Frenchmen Street's music at your door.
Each area guide says who it suits, how getting around actually works from there, and names a few long-established hotels we have checked on their own sites. Each guide also carries its own Trip.com search for that part of town; the search box below covers the whole city.
French Quarter
The oldest streets in the city as your base: walk to almost everything, and take the noise as part of the rent.
First-time visitors, short stays, and anyone who wants the classic sights on foot and the nightlife close.
Central Business District (CBD)
One block from the Quarter, with the big hotels, the streetcar lines and the Superdome in walking range.
Business and convention trips, game days at the Superdome and the Smoothie King Center, and anyone who wants the Quarter near but not underfoot.
Garden District and Uptown
Mansions, oak canopy and the St. Charles streetcar: residential New Orleans, at streetcar pace.
Repeat visitors, parade watchers on the St. Charles route, and anyone who would rather wake to birdsong than to Bourbon Street.
Marigny and Bywater
Frenchmen Street's music rooms, Creole cottages and the city's bohemian east side, one walk from the Quarter.
Music-first trips, repeat visitors, and travellers who want neighbourhood New Orleans over hotel-row New Orleans.

We do not take bookings ourselves. Search the whole city here, or open an area guide above for the same search set to that neighbourhood.
