About this event
The festival is held in New Orleans every year over the Fourth of July weekend, centred on evening concerts at the Caesars Superdome with daytime programming at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The expected 2027 dates follow that fixed pattern: the 2026 edition ran Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5, 2026, and in 2027 the Fourth of July falls on a Sunday, giving an expected Friday to Sunday run of July 2 to 4, 2027. The record is marked expected, with the basis stated here, because no 2027 dates were published on the official festival page, essence.com/festival, when checked on November 1, 2026, and that page could not be fetched directly (HTTP 403).
