About this place
The Quarter rewards a guide. Behind the cast iron and the crowds there are courtyard houses, Creole cottages and a street plan laid out in 1718, and a good local guide threads them into one story as you walk. Take the tour early in your stay; every street you cross afterwards makes more sense.
