About this place

The zoo spreads through Audubon Park under the live oaks, and its Louisiana Swamp exhibit is the signature: alligators, bears and a Cajun fishing camp, as much a portrait of the state as a zoo enclosure. The ride out is half the pleasure, on the St. Charles streetcar to Audubon Park and a walk through the park to the gate. Give it a full morning at least.
