About this place

The menu has barely changed since 1862: beignets, three to an order and buried in powdered sugar, plus café au lait, black coffee, milk and juice. It is cash-register simple, open long hours, and the sugar on the floor is part of the institution. Order, watch the river over the levee, and accept that you will leave wearing some of the sugar.
