About this place
The approach to Oak Alley, a double row of ancient live oaks forming a green tunnel to the Big House, is one of the great postcard views of the South, and the guided tour does not flinch from the enslaved people who built and ran the place. Pairing it with a swamp boat ride makes the standard full day out of New Orleans, and it earns it. Transport from the city is included in the day trip.
